HOW TO JOIN THE TEAM

Team membership and participation provides tremendous opportunities for learning, fun, and hard work in many areas related to science and technology.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

The general requirements for Student Membership are listed below. A detailed list of membership pre-requisites will be provided.

you must be enrolled in grade 9 - 12 at a High School within San Luis Obispo County (Atascadero High School is the Team's base)
you must be willing to devote a significant amount of time to supporting the Team's build season preparation efforts (including fund raising), the build season itself, and Regional Competition preparation and participation efforts
you must be willing to lead specific tasks both individually and with other team members, commensurate with your experience and ability level
you must be dedicated and dependable
you must be respectful of team property, other students on the Team, Team mentors, and other FIRST Teams and members.

Interested students may join the Team on a trail basis to determine if it is "right" for them. A commitment decision is required by the first week in December along with payment of specified participation fees to become a full team member. Being a full team member and meeting Team Requirements earns a student the privilege and opportunity of attending Regional Competitions and other Team activities and functions.

NON-STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

College students interested in becoming a Student Mentor may request an application from one of the contacts above.

Many opportunities are available for adults interesting in the helping the team. These opportunities range from occasional help with team support to becoming a Team Mentor.
